Jim Furyk at Pinehurst No.2

This week, the PGA Tour is currently in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia for the CIMB Classic while the European Tour is in Shanghai, China for the BMW Masters! We are still months away from the first Major Championship in 2014 at Augusta National and the US Open is even farther away! However, 2003 US Open Champion Jim Furyk visited Pinehurst No.2 with a few friends recently, which is the site of the 2014 US Open!

Pinehurst No.2 hosted the US Open in 1999 and 2005 and will host the US Open again in 2014. This year, Pinehurst No.2 will also be the site of the U.S. Women’s Open Championships a week after the men’s championship. Although other events have been held at Pinehurst No.2 previously, it is almost a completely new course after the restoration of the golf course by Coore & Crenshaw! Jim Furyk was able to take some time to join Pinehurst No.2 to discuss a few changes to the golf course and how he thinks it would play. Perhaps, Jim Furyk will be able to put his name among the historic names on the walls of the Pinehurst Resort Clubhouse! It’s still more than half a year away but we are looking forward to the 2014 US Open!
