Taylormade introduced their SLDR Driver about 2 months ago and it quickly became the most popular and most played driver on the PGA and European Tours. Today, Taylormade has announced the next set of equipment in the SLDR line – fairway woods and hybrids.
What you’re going to notice right away though, is that the SLDR fairway woods and hybrids don’t actually have a sliding weight on the bottom of the club – a “slider” that doesn’t slide? But what the fairway woods and hybrids do have is Taylormade’s improved Speed Pocket technology, introduced in the Speedblade Irons and also seen in similar shape and form in the RBZ and RBZ Stage 2 line of fairway woods.
Similar to the SLDR Driver though, the focus was to have a low and forward center of gravity (CG) and more loft to create more distance for golfers. This produces a lower-spin and higher-flying shots. The SLDR fairway wood and hybrids have actually been played on the PGA Tour since the Tour Championship last month. Take a look at the above video and see what some of the Taylormade Tour Pros have to say about these clubs! You can also see a more detailed video below with the Tour Pros testing the SLDR 3-wood! Be sure to leave a comment and let us know what you think too! The SLDR fairway woods ($250) and hybrids ($220) will be available on November 15, 2013.
