During the week of the Presidents Cup where Team USA took on Team International, on the other side of the Atlantic, Team Great Britain and Ireland took on Team Continental Europe in an event for the Seve Trophy. Similar to Team International in the Presidents Cup, Team Continental Europe has lost the last six Seve Trophy events to Team Great Britain and Ireland. However, this year, the event came down to the very last match where Francesco Molinari’s 3 & 2 win over Chris Wood allowed the Continentals to prevail 15-13 over Britain and Ireland, although eight members of the world’s top 20 skipped the event this year.
The Seve Trophy is a biennial event named in honour of the great Seve Ballesteros and with the conclusion of the event in France, we’re remembering the spectacular matchplay talents of Seve himself! Take a look at the video above!
