Adam Scott: INTL’s Must Win Presidents Cup

The Presidents Cup falls short of the drama at golf’s other biennial event, the Ryder Cup, due to the dominance of the Americans on their International opponents. Since the inception of the Presidents Cup in 1994, Team USA has been 7-1-1 coming into this week at Muirfield Village. But the International team, especially Adam Scott, feel that it’s time to win and beat the Americans to keep this event competitive and credible, and not just an “exhibition.”

Adam Scott continues his back seat conversation with Golf Magazine’s Alan Bastable and talks Presidents Cup. Adam Scott is really passionate about this year’s Presidents Cup: “The Internationals need to step up and win the thing and make it a real competition. I’m getting tired of getting killed out there. This is a big year for us. It’s our time.” Just like it was his time to win the Masters this year, perhaps his teammates will also have the opportunity to showcase their passion and have a moment like the one below for themselves and as a team!

The Americans may have another mindset coming into this week, although they probably want to win, Phil Mickelson says that ““The tournament is about promoting the game of golf on an international level. Who loses and by how much isn’t as important as having the guys get together in a competitive, friendly environment, put on a good show and have some fun doing it.” Take a look at the team members for USA and International below:
