With the end of the 2013 PGA Tour season, the PGA Tour has announced its nominees for the Player of the Year award! The five finalists are Tiger Woods, Adam Scott, Phil Mickelson, Matt Kuchar and your most recent FedEx Cup winner, Henrik Stenson! For the ninth time in his career, Tiger Woods has won five or more tournaments in a year. Despite not ending his Major championship drought, Tiger placed second in the FedEx Cup Standings. As for Adam Scott, he broke through this year with his victory at the Masters and continued his strong play through the year, winning The Barclays and placing fourth in the FedEx Cup standings. In case you need a refresher, the PGA Tour released videos looking back at Tiger’s and Adam’s 2013 season!
As for Phil, he had his incredible victory at the Open Championship at Muirfield while Matt Kuchar won twice on tour this season and finished sixth in the FedExCup standings. Henrik’s season does not need any explanation. His strong play all year led to his victory in the final event of the FedEx Cup playoffs, which won him the FedEx Cup as well! All these players make a strong case for Player of the Year but who’s got your vote?
