Before the 2013 BMW Championship begins, the defending champion Rory McIlroy competed in a driving challenge against fellow PGA TOUR golfer Gary Woodland in the all new BMW i3. The i3 is the first purpose built electric vehicle made primarily of carbon fiber – we wish they had an i8 there too though! Both McIlroy and Woodland have been two of the first people in the world to drive the i3 since the car’s global reveal on July 29th – they even competed against each other on a specially created driving course outside Six Flags Great America and raised $10,000 for the BMW Championship and Evans Scholars Foundation.
