The Barclays at Liberty National GC got underway today amidst two lengthy weather delays. As previously mentioned, Liberty National GC was revamped after being criticized by players and caddies the first time the Barclays was held there. Taking the criticism in stride, Founder Paul Fireman took money out of his own pocket and along with course designer Tom Kite and Robert Cupp, 15 of the 18 holes on the $250 million Liberty National GC were redesigned in 2010!
Forbes Magazine chatted with Paul Fireman recently and discussed how Liberty National was revamped in preparation for the 2013 Barclays tournament! PGA Tour also has a feature on their website, showing the number of changes to each of the hole at the golf course! So far, players are loving the positive changes to Liberty National. Now if the weather would only get cooperate and turn for the better!
