The FedEx playoffs are right around the corner after the the conclusion of the four Major Championships in 2013. The third event of the FedEx Cup playoffs this year is the BMW Championship, held at Conway Farms Golf Club in Lake Forest, Illinois! Being an alma mater of Northwestern University in nearby Chicago, Luke Donald is particularly excited for this tourney and on Monday, Luke played in a nine-hole skins game to help promote the event!
In the nine-hole skins event, Luke Donald played alongside fellow Tour Pro Mark Wilson as well as Chicago Bulls’ Kirk Hinrich and new Northwestern men’s basketball coach Chris Collins. Kirk and Chris are not the only basketball pros to tee it up this summer but this was for a good cause! A total of $45,000 was donated to charity (Evans Scholars) as Luke and Chris teamed up to win 5 of the 4 holes in the skins event! The BMW Championship will have only 70 players in its field, with the top 30 in FedEx Cup points advancing to the Tour Championship at East Lake GC the following week! Luke has played Conway Farms GC a number of times as it is considered the home course of Northwestern. Think Luke will have an advantage at the BMW Championship in a few weeks time?
