Phil Mickelson won his first Open Championship last week and recently, he joined Matt Lauer on the Today Show to talk about his victory at Muirfield, the disappointment at Merion and to promote his Mickelson ExxonMobil Teachers Academy which helps teach science and math concepts to elementary school students. Science and math are subjects Phil credits his Open Championship victory to, with the engineers at Callaway creating a 3-wood with more spin for Muirfield conditions. After the interview, Phil and Lauer head to the ping-pong table, where Phil explains the correlation between ping pong and subjects such as physics – as he emphasizes, action and reaction!
