Dave Pelz is a world renowned golf instructor based in Dripping Springs, Texas. When golf is your career, you must sleep, eat and breathe golf and what better way to do that than to have your very own practice facility in your backyard. In what Wall Street Journal has called the “World’s Greatest Backyard,” Dave Pelz’ really does indeed take it to another level and his backyard was featured in HGTV’s Million Dollar Rooms.
Similar to former Atlanta Braves’ Cy Young pitcher John Smoltz’ backyard, Dave Pelz’ backyard is truly a golfer’s paradise. The thought and expertise that went into the backyard’s design allow Dave to practice every shot imaginable inside 100 yards. There are eight greens in total and from chips, putts and pitches, Dave’s backyard has it covered. The design of a few greens were also inspired by some of the world’s most famous holes, including hole number 12 at Augusta, the famed 17th island green at TPC Sawgrass, the 14th at Pebble Beach and the 17th at the home of golf, St. Andrews. Perhaps the best part about this ridiculous backyard is its zero maintenance cost as it is made from artificial turf, much like Precision Greens. Dave’s backyard is truly a dream and what we would give to have a backyard like his!
