Hole in One by 9 Year Old Prodigy

How many of you golfers out there have golfed hundreds of rounds over the years but have yet to achieve a hole in one? For 9 year old Brycen Ko, he achieved this remarkable feat this past weekend on the 6th hole of Northview Golf Course during the 2013 PGA of B.C. Junior Championship! With a hybrid in his hand, Brycen took a half swing and hit it 123 yards to nail his first ace! According to Brycen, he started playing the game of golf at two years old and by three, he was chipping. At four, Brycen was on the range; at five and six, Brycen was playing pitch and putt, and at seven, he had the goal that he wanted to be on the PGA Tour!

Brycen has put in a lot of hard work in his game though. During the school year, he would only practice on weekends but nowadays in the summer, Brycen would practice six hours a day, including warm-up, chipping and putting, 18 holes of golf, driving range, and then finishing off with another session of chipping and putting. It definitely doesn’t hurt that Brycen’s father is a teaching pro at the Musqueam Golf Club though. We have featured many young prodigies lately and Brycen is just the latest one. He’ll be competing this weekend at the Veritas World Junior Championship in Los Angeles with some of the world’s best junior golfers. Perhaps Brycen will play a few of these junior golfers this weekend!
