It’s Thursday and also the start of The Open Championship! Poults shares how he manages the anticipation, adrenalin and anxiousness that he feels until that first tee shot of the Championship. He shares what music gets him pumped and talks about the fact that you can’t win it on Thursday but you can definitely lose it! The R&A are definitely not easing the players into this championship though, as the pins are already tucked tight for the first round! Combine that with “faster than fast” conditions and deep fescue rough (that is more like hay as described by Ian Poulter) and you’re bound to have some pretty frustrated players by the end of the first day.
Unfortunately the guys this afternoon will struggle with a few pin positions. 8th hole is a joke, 18th needs a windmill & clown face.
