PGA Tour player, Kris Blanks, was arrested on Sunday at Palm Beach International Airport when Transportation Safety Administration (TSA) workers found a loaded gun in his carry-on backpack (a .40-caliber Glock 27 with eight rounds in the magazine). He was on his way to catch a plane to Charlotte, N.C., when he entered an airport security checkpoint and gave his bag to security to an X-ray scan. He was then arrested on charges of carrying a concealed weapon.
Blanks was then taken to jail but later released on $3,000 bail. He told police he had forgotten to remove the gun from his bag before he brought it to the airport and did not have a permit for a concealed weapon. Blanks only professional victory came at the 2008 Bank of America Open on the Nationwide Tour. His only start for the 2013 season was at the Waste Management Open in Phoenix, where he missed the cut. He’s currently recovering from a shoulder injury though!
