Over the years, the game of golf has evolved tremendously. From players’ commitment to fitness and improving their games, modern technology has also played a huge part in the process! PGA Tour takes a deeper look into this evolution in the video above!
Modern technology of golf was forever changed when Ping founder Karsten Solheim created his famed Anser putter and perimeter irons! Nowadays, drivers are made from titanium and with the modern ball, Tour pros are driving the ball an average of 30 yards further than 30 years ago. Swing analysis, club fitting, ball fitting and satellite technology provide an abundance of statistics and feedback for Tour pros and it’s even a norm for the casual golfer everywhere! As the 2013 US Open Champ Justin Rose said,”If you’re not moving forward, you’re being undertaken,” and technology boundaries will continue to be pushed!

With all the advances in technology, it would be great to take a 15 to 18 handicap player with over the counter clubs and a tour player with customized clubs, with both players having the same height & build. Have them play 18 holes with their clubs, then switch clubs and play another 18 to see what happens to scoring, driving distance, etc…etc…
