Bubba Watson was in the field this past week at the Travelers Championship with a chance to tie the leading score and make it into the playoff with Ken Duke and Chris Stroud or even to win the tournament outright. However, his triple-bogey 6 on the 16th hole of the final round cost him his chance. He would end up in solo fourth place for the tournament, but not before letting his caddie, Ted Scott, hear his thoughts about the hole.
With his fourth place finish, Watson took home nearly $300,000. But if he had just made a bogey instead of a triple, he would have been in the playoff. If he lost the playoff, he would have earned an additional $300,000. If he had won the playoff, he would have made $800,000 more than he did. Just crunching some numbers, but you can see the difference one shot can make to a player on Tour!
