That is not a typo on the headline. You read that right. A 9 year old shot a score of 58 in the Mount Pleasant Junior Golf Open this week at Patriots Point Links! But this is no ordinary 9 year old as Zach Adams is the reigning South Carolina Golf Association Peewee Champion! And it seems like Zach comes from a family that absolutely loves golf! Zach’s dad competed against Golf Channel’s Charlie Rymer in junior golf and his grandfather is a golf professional!

Zach competed in the age 8-9 boys division in the Mount Pleasant Junior Golf Open and with a score of 58, he absolutely blew the competition away. For the tournament, fairway tees were used to allow these kids to score hence, the course played “2,680 yards, with the par 5s ranging from 200-215 yards; the par 4s from 150-170 yards; and the par 3s from 60-75 yards.” The tourney was carried out over two days, with Zach shooting scores of 29 and 29 for a combined score of 58! On Day 1, Zach made an eagle and 5 birdies and continued his hot streak on Day 2 with an eagle and 3 birdies. Regardless, a score of 58 is impressive! Golf Channel’s Charlie Rymer is actually quite friendly with the Adams family. Take a look at the video below to see a clip of Zach’s swing and what Charlie has to say about Zach’s accomplishment!
