Ben Hogan and Merion Golf Club

Merion Golf Course is one that is filled with history with some of the greatest players ever to walk on it’s grounds and win tournaments. It was at Merion that Ben Hogan hit his famous 1-iron shot, now famously photographed. And it was the site of the 1950 US Open where Ben Hogan fought back from a horrific car accident to win in a playoff with Lew Worsham and George Fazio.
