We’ve heard from Rory McIlroy and Graeme McDowell on their thoughts on this year’s US Open at Merion Golf Club. This week, Gene Wojciechowski sits down with Tiger Woods to discuss his major championship drought and his chances at the US Open at Merion Golf Club.
Tiger said all he can do is put himself in contention and give himself a chance. He practiced at Merion the week before the Memorial in pouring rain and it looks like it may have been an advantage for him. Tropical Storm Andrea has rained and flooded parts of Merion’s East Course, notably the 11th and 12th holes – if they are unplayable during the tournament, the USGA will use two holes from Merion’s West Course (4th and 5th). The weather should be clear before the beginning of the US Open this Thursday though!
