Tiger Woods Wins The Players

tiger-players-2

This past weekend, Tiger Woods played “better than most” and won his second career Players Championship. Starting with some statistics, this was also Woods’ 300th career start. During his first two milestones of 100th and 200th career starts, he won both events. This seemed to foreshadow what was to take place on Sunday! In his 300 starts, Tiger has won 78 total tournaments for a career winning percentage of 26%! But this year’s Players Championship wasn’t without controversy – but you can read about that here! Woods’ round wasn’t perfect though, as he had a bit of a stumble on the 14th and 16th holes. Below are two incredible shots from Woods during these two holes and it really shows the benefits of working out and hitting the gym to one’s golf game

With 4 wins already in the 2013 PGA Tour season, Tiger Woods has become the favorite for the US Open, just one month away! This is the fastest he’s ever gotten to 4 wins in a season in his entire career. The US Open at Merion Golf Club (which he’s never played!) will be exactly 5 years since Woods’ won his last Major Championship – the 2008 US Open at Torrey Pines in a remarkable 19 hole playoff against Rocco Mediate.
