We’re finally taking our Canadian Course of the Week feature eastward this week to the province of Alberta. This is not the first time we have featured golf courses in Alberta as we have featured Kananaskis Country Golf Club and Jasper Park Lodge Golf Course before. Just like those two golf courses, this week’s course, Silvertip Golf Course, is surrounded by the spectacular Rocky Mountains, making a 600 feet of elevation changes throughout the course one of its most unique feature!
Silvertip Golf Course is a 7,200 yard, 18 hole Championship Golf Course that’s designed by veteran course architect, Les Furber. It is located 96 kilometres west of the city of Calgary and at the entrance of Banff National Park, which makes it “stands at the edge of an immense, untouched wilderness reserve.” Silvertip is the only golf course to be located on the south-facing side of the mountains. For this reason, it is known to be on the sunny side of Bow Valley as it is drenched in warmth and sunshine more often than not! With this location, there are really not enough words to describe the spectacular setting of Silvertip Golf Course. Pictures (shown above) says a thousand words but like it stated on their website, Silvertip Golf Course definitely provides spectacular views from the edge of forever!
