Course of the Week: Cordova Bay Golf Course

The abundance of golf courses on Vancouver Island is no secret. Over the last few weeks, we have featured a few quality golf courses on the island and we are only around the region of Victoria, BC! This week takes us to Cardova Bay Golf Course, which like many of the other courses in Victoria, features beautiful scenery with the Olympic mountains to the South and the Malahat to the North. With its beautiful surroundings and frequent golfers comparing Cardova Bay Golf Course to the prestigious private golf club Shaughnessy Golf and Country Club, it is no wonder Cardova Bay have been ranked as one of the top Top 5 Canadian Golf Destinations by Golf Canada Magazine!

Aside from being ranked as one of the top Top 5 Canadian Golf Destinations by Golf Canada Magazine, Cardova Bay Golf Club is also home to two awards that was given to them in 2010. The superintendent of Cardova Bay is Dean Piller and him and his crew are responsible for keeping the spectacular conditions at the golf course. In 2010, Dean and his crew were recognized for their hard work and Dean Piller was awarded Superintendent of the Year by the Canadian Superintendents Association! To wrap up a great year, Cardova Bay Golf Club was also given the PGA of British Columbia’s Facility of the Year Award! This award is given based on comments and feedback from its members and its most frequent players, giving the award a real sense of accomplishment to everyone at Cardova Bay!

We would be on Vancouver Island for ages if we were to play all the wonderful courses there but a few must be on the to-play list and Cardova Bay Golf Course is definitely one of them. Beautiful views are common but Cardova Bay is also Vancouver Island’s first certified Audubon Sanctuary, meaning your round of golf will most likely have its abundance of wildlife as well!
