Course of the Week: Olympic View Golf Club

This week’s course of the week is Olympic View Golf Club, which is located on the southern tip of Vancouver Island. It is approximately twenty minutes away from downtown Victoria (the capital of BC) and offer golfers an opportunity to play golf year round. It is actually the first golf course Tiger Woods ever played in British Columbia as Tiger played it as an amateur in 1994! Like many other courses in the British Columbia region, Olympic View Golf Club provides a setting of natural beauty and it has many awards to show for it!

Olympic View is owned and operated by GolfBC and it is sure to provide golfers an experience they won’t forget. As stated on their website, Olympic View was rated the #20 Best Golf Experience in Canada and USA West by Fairways and Greens Magazine in 2006. It was also “previously ranked within the Top 35 Public Golf Courses in Canada and Top 50 Golf Courses in Canada by the Golf Course Ranking Magazine and Score Golf Magazine.” Aside from their award winning golf course, Olympic View’s practice facility (GBC Golf Academy) also picked up an award of their own as it was voted the #1 Practice Facility in BC by Pacific Golf Magazine! With a 12-acre practice facility that features large grass decks and comprehensive short game areas, it is no wonder that it picked up an award for the #1 Practice Facility in BC. Combining the practice facility with its world class golf course and you’ve definitely got a destination that’s worth visiting for your next golf adventure!
