Staying on the West coast of Canada, our Canadian Province feature takes us to Swaneset Bay Resort & Country Club located in Pitt Meadows, British Columbia. Located about an hour from the city of Vancouver, the most distinct feature of Swaneset Bay is its luxurious, 65,000-square-foot clubhouse. Its grand entrance and long drive to the clubhouse is reminiscent of Magnolia Lane at Augusta National Golf Club and definitely leave its visitors a lasting impression.
The clubhouse is not all there is to Swaneset Bay though. Only two golf courses in Canada were designed by PGA legend Lee Trevino and both of these courses resides at Swaneset Bay. Known as the Links course and the Resort course, Swaneset Bay offer challenges to golfers of all skill level while the natural beauty of its surroundings leave golfers in awe. Both of these golf courses weave through the beautiful Pitt River Valley and as stated on Swaneset Bay’s website, the courses also seamlessly “incorporates meandering streams, crystal-clear lakes and a breath-taking vista of coastal mountains.”
If the golf course looks familiar, it could be because just like Furry Creek Golf & Country Club, it was featured in the 1996 film Happy Gilmore! Much of the movie’s golf scenes were actually filmed at Swaneset Bay Resort & Country Club and its clubhouse will definitely not be missed in the movie!
