Perhaps Oakley has been more known for losing the world number 1 player, Rory McIlroy, to Nike Golf and their attempt to stop the deal from happening through litigation over the past couple of weeks. On a positive note, they’ve recently signed and introduced 2012 Masters Champion, Bubba Watson, to be the face of Oakley Golf. This may be a better fit for both Bubba and Oakley. The company is a fun, exciting, young and professional group while Bubba is about having fun and goofing off on the golf course, while being competitive and winning big events. The video is a great “Bubba Style” introduction and really shows this “right fit” between Bubba and Oakley.
When asked why he decided to join Oakley, Watson said, “Simple. Oakley gets it. They love the game and they never stop pushing technology to make the game better. Whatever they can do — whatever can be done — Oakley will do it. I respect that.”
