Despite being outfitted by Yonex during his golf rounds, Ryo Ishikawa signed a contract with Nike earlier in the year 2012, which allowed Ryo to wear casual shoes and sportswear from Nike’s Sportswear line. Known for his flashy attire as much as his all-world game, the “Bashful Prince” Ryo Ishikawa has teamed up with Nike to collaborate on the Nike Air Force 1 Downtown.
The year 2012 marks the 30th anniversary of the iconic Air Force 1 and Nike has taken this opportunity to release special editions of these shoes. Among them is the AF1 Downtown, “which is essentially a slimmed down version, making the sneaker more contemporary.” The AF1 Downtown collaborated on by Nike Japan and Ryo will be a limited version where its main features are an exotic white leather premium upper with black and red accents. The outer sole of the shoe glows in the dark and studs around the Nike swoosh tops it off! This special edition will be available exclusively at the Nike Pivot Point pop-up store in Tokyo!
