This week, our Course of the Week brings us to Queenstown, New Zealand. The Millbrook Golf Course is part of Queenstown’s five-star Millbrook Resort. In addition to a championship golf course, their driving range is built into an original, restored high country woolshed – it is a fully covered practice area which enhances the golf experience for golfers and allows them to fully immerse themselves in their surroundings. But don’t think that because the driving range is built into an old woolshed that it is rundown – on the contrary, the driving range includes all the modern technological teaching equipment, including a Vector Launch Monitor, SAM Putt Lab, video analysis equipment, automated ball dispenser and infrared heaters, a perfect blend of old and new.
Set against the backdrop of the Remarkables Mountain Range, the 27 hole golf course at Millbrook takes advantage of the dramatic terrain and delivers a world-class golf experience. It is a mix of manicured “Parklands” courses and “Links” courses, offering a variety of natural hazards. The Arrow Nine, Coronet Nine and Remarkables Nine complete this 27 hole golf course and made Millbrook the Best Overseas Golf Resort in 2011.
The original 18 holes were designed by renowned professional and master golfer Sir Bob Charles, and renovated by Greg Turner in October 2010 with the addition of the Coronet Nine. This championship course features five different tee positions for complete enjoyment at all levels, as well as breath-taking views at every corner!
