The next stop on the European tour is the UBS Hong Kong Open at the Hong Kong Golf Club in Fanling. There was a press conference held at the Peak Tower where Rory McIlroy, Matt Kuchar, Padraig Harrington, Paul Lawrie and YE Yang gave interviews and had a cool photoshoot together. Last year’s winner, Rory McIlroy, is coming off a third place finish at last week’s Barclays Singapore Open and has locked up the money titles on both the PGA Tour and European Tour. In addition, McIlroy has been announced Golf Magazine’s player of the year – with four wins, including the 2012 PGA Championship, we kind of saw this coming! Tiger Woods seemed to be the only other player that could have challenged him for this honor.
Another tournament that is happening this week is the Australian Masters held at Melbourne’s Kingston Heath Golf Course. The field consists of some notable names, including Adam Scott, Graeme McDowell and Ian Poulter (who tweeted that his golf clubs were lost and ended up in Los Angeles, rather than Melbourne!). It should be another exciting week of golf!
