After a few days of releasing teaser pictures, Nike finally revealed its new driver, the Covert. As expected, Nike continues to push the limits, revealing the first cavity back driver. Nike claims that the cavity back technology enables the weight to be moved where it’s needed most. As a result, it leads to more stability at impact and more energy at the golf ball hence, more distance!
And to the surprise of no one, Rory McIlroy will most likely be swinging one of these drivers in the 2013 season! As Robert Lusetich from Fox Sports reported, Rory is said to have signed a deal with Nike worth a minimum of $200 million. And it seems a commercial has already been filmed for the new driver, featuring Rory and his new best friend, Tiger Woods!
The Covert driver will be available to the public in February 2013 and will comes in two models, the Covert Performance and the Covert Tour driver. Check out the video Nike made for the release of their new driver!
