Phil Mickelson & Monday Night Football

Phil Mickelson will be the halftime entertainment at Quallcomm Stadium on October 15th during the Broncos-Chargers game!  Aside from cheering from his home town San Diego Chargers, Phil is going to participate in the “KPMG Chip4Charity” contest, where he’ll have to hit a shot from one end zone to the other at different targets, with money being donated to First Book.  First Book is a non-profit organization that provides books for underprivileged children.

Depending on which target he’s able to hit, that is how much his sponsor KPMG will donate.  There will be an outer ring worth $50,000/20,000 books, an inner ring of $100,000/40,000 books and the bull’s-eye for $1 million/400,000 books.

This event is a key component to KPMG’s “Blue for Books” program which started in March 2012.  “Blue for Books” was created by KPMG’s Family for Literacy with Phil and First Book.  The program encourages golf fans to purchase Phil’s authentic blue KPMG Tour hat at PhilsBlueHat.com.  100% of the net proceeds from these sales go to First Book – three books will be provided for each hat sold.
