Lydia Ko Wins 2012 CN Canadian Women’s Open

What a day of golf it was during the final round of the 2012 CN Canadian Women’s Open!  We were there and witnessed history being made as Lydia Ko became the youngest ever to win an LPGA Tour event at 15 years, four months and two days old.  She was the first amateur since Joanne Carner in 1969 to win a LPGA Tour Event and broke Lexi Thompson’s record of winning at 16 years old!

It was a tight leaderboard until Ko had four straight birdies on the back nine and scoring birdie on the five of the first six holes on the back!  She shot a final round of 67 and a tournament total of -13, not quite “Eighteen Under Par!”  Due to her amateur status, Lydia does not get to keep the prize money of $300,000. The 1st place money will be given to runner up Inbee Park and the rest of the prize money shifted downwards.  Here are some photos we snapped of Ko’s historic round and also some photos of Vancouver Golf Club!
