Argentina’s national sporting passion for football (soccer) is well known but golf is slowly growing in this Latin American country and CNN Living Golf is there to investigate its history and future of golf! Two-time Major Champion Angel Cabrera is Argentina’s most celebrated golfer, having won the Masters as well as the US Open. But just like China has the ambition for global golf domination, Argentina has its own junior program in place to develop its next group of elite golfers.
The Argentinean Golf Association High Performance Academy employs three full time coaches to work with Argentina’s best while regional and development coaches go into junior academies around the country to find promising players! A lot of effort and money is being put into developing Argentina’s next up and coming golfers and with golf returning to the Olympics in Rio, Brazil in 2016, this will only further the growth of golf in Argentina and other parts of Latin America!
