It seems golf prodigies these days are getting younger and younger. From a 12 year old making his European Tour debut to a 14 year old making an appearance in the Masters at Augusta, the growth of golf is simply amazing! On the LPGA side, teenager Lydia Ko won her first LPGA event in Vancouver at the 2012 CN Canadian Women’s Open when she was 15 years old! She is now on the verge of turning professional at the tender age of 16!
A video clip has recently surfaced on the net with a 3 year old prodigy, Michael Patton of Dublin, Ireland, who can be seen chipping balls into a clothes hamper, time after time! Just like his favourite golfer Rory McIlroy, Michael puts on a clinic and it looks completely effortless! If you recall, Tiger Woods had his own prodigy video when he was a young child as did Rory. Perhaps in a few years, we will see Michael competing in the US Kids Golf World Championships. The sacrifice and hard work is plenty but Michael looks like he truly enjoys the game! It may be looking too far ahead but in 20 years time, we might see Michael Patton on the PGA Tour! And in case you forgot, take a look at Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy’s own prodigy videos!
