The season’s first World Golf Championship takes place this week as sixty-four of the world’s top golfers head to Tucson, Arizona for the 2014 WGC-Accenture Match Play! Match play format is not something we see often in professional golf and it’s refreshing that each year, we get to see the top players go at it one on one in this tournament.
Last year, the WGC-Accenture Match Play had its share of surprises which included the snowy weather as well as shocking upsets in the first few matches of the tournament! Matt Kuchar ended up being the last man standing as he defeated Hunter Mahan 2&1.
This year, the top seeds in each match play bracket are Henrik Stenson, Justin Rose, Rory McIlroy and Zach Johnson. Despite being the top seeds, you’d be surprised at their records at this tournament the past few years. There will also be some fresh faces at the tournament such as Hideki Matsuyama, Jordan Spieth and arguably the PGA Tour’s hottest player this season, Jimmy Walker! Who do you have your money on?
