Callaway Legacy Black Irons 2013

The Callaway Legacy Black irons are not available in North America, but they have gotten a lot of attention after Henrik Stenson’s strong play during the 2013 PGA Tour season and the FedEx Cup. Stenson used a mixture of equipment, including Callaway Japan’s 2012 version of the Legacy Black Irons. Those irons have a compact 1020-forged head with little offset that delivers the look and feel that many players on Tour prefer. For 2013, Callaway Japan has released their new, updated set of Legacy Black Irons, which actually include many of the features in the company’s new Apex irons. We’ve also featured the new Legacy Black Driver a while ago as well!

Similar to the Apex irons, the 2013 Legacy Black Irons are forged and have tungsten sole weights in the longer irons (3-5 irons) to help golfers launch the golf ball higher. The irons also have a deep undercut behind the face, which increases ball speed and forgiveness, while also helping to absorb vibrations and adds to a softer feel. A triangular weight is also positioned at the centre of the back cavity to promote stability during impact and to enhance feedback. Unfortunately, the Legacy Black Irons will not be available for purchase in North America, but you will be able to purchase them through international dealers for a premium – they are estimated to go for about $1500 for a set! They are definitely a great looking set of golf clubs though, take a look at all the photos!
