South Korea’s Grandest Golf Courses

It is no secret that golf is beloved in South Korea. Se Ri Pak’s achievements have inspired the current generation of dominant South Korean golfers on the LPGA Tour and this has only fueled the growth of golf in the East Asian nation. Due to a lack of space, the number of golf courses are minimal but in the last part of this month’s CNN Living Golf, Shane O’Donoghue takes us to two of the grandest golf courses in the country.

The first golf course we visit is Whistling Rock Country Club, located an hour outside of Seoul. It opened in 2011 and features three 9-hole tracks that winds through some breathtaking mountain views.

The second golf course may be more well-known, having hosted the 2015 Presidents Cup and the 8th Asia-Pacific Amateur Championship recently. It is the Jack Nicklaus Golf Club Korea, situated 40 miles outside of Seoul in Incheon. It is a part of a residential development and very much represents the modern face of South Korea.
