One week before summer officially kicks off, the world’s best golfers will compete in the second Major Championship of the year at Oakmont Country Club in Oakmont, PA. Nike athletes will showcase styles that represent an optic shift in Nike Golf’s Summer 2016 collection.
Two key technologies — Nike UV Reveal and engineered knit — debut on polos with either traditional or blade collars. Nike UV Reveal provides protection from the sun and heat. At the same time, the technology reveals underlying color across the shoulder when the fabric is stretched, highlighting the mobility of the polo throughout the swing. Rory McIlroy will don the Nike MM Fly Blade and the Nike MM Fly Blade Block polo, both with blade collars. These lightweight Dri-FIT polos are constructed from engineered knit and ergonomic seams for a full range of motion.
Eleven Nike Athletes are scheduled to compete at the 2016 US Open, including past champion McIlroy as well as Charl Schwartzel, Brooks Koepka, Paul Casey, Kevin Chappell, Patrick Rodgers, Tony Finau, Romain Wattel, Kevin Tway, Miguel Tabuena and Denny McCarthy. RORY MCILROY
Throughout the week, Rory will be wearing the Nike Classic 99 hat, MM Fly Blade polo, Modern Tech Woven pant, Lunar Control 4 and play a custom RZN Tour Platinum golf ball.
BROOKS KOEPKA
Brooks is one of the longest hitters in the sport of golf. This week, he’ll wear the Nike Golf True Tour hat, Nike MM Fly Swing Knit polo, Nike Modern Tech Woven pant, Lunar Control 4 and play a custom RZN Tour Platinum golf ball.
PAUL CASEY
Paul Casey has really had an upward swing in his career over the past few years. We love the look of the shirts he will be wearing this week, especially the subtle colour details on the collar and inside the shirt. This week, he’ll be wearing the Nike Legacy 91 Tour Mesh hat, Nike MM Fly UV Reveal polo, Modern Fit Washed pant, Lunar Control 4 and play a custom RZN Tour Platinum golf ball.
PATRICK RODGERS
