There has definitely been a fashion evolution in the sport of golf over the past couple of years. Golfers have gone from wearing loose fitting and neutral coloured clothing to tailored/slim fit, fashion forward clothing that feature premium fabrics and bright, bold colours and patterns. We’ve seen this evolution in the fashion of golf through brands and collections such as IJP Design, Bunker Mentality, the Lacoste City Golf Collection, J. Lindeberg, RLX Golf, Hugo Boss, Tom Morris and more.
Another fashion brand that has brought a “wow” factor to the golfing world is Loudmouth Golf. This was a company started by Scott “Woody” Woodworth in his Northern California garage 15 years ago and worn by “grip it and rip it” golfer John Daly. Woodworth began his venture into golf fashion by turning gaudy fabrics into golf pants and today, his company is projected to sell over $10 million in clothing and other lifestyle products featuring his original designs. In the video above, Woodworth and business partner Larry Jackson recount Loudmouth’s colorful journey in this installment of Bloomberg’s “Small to Big” series.
