The Masters 2014: Custom Equipment

Augusta National Clubhouse The Masters

The Masters is starting this week and we have already seen some Augusta-inspired collections. Earlier this month, Nike Golf released Masters-inspired footwear including the TW’14, Lunar Control II and Lunar Clayton. We also got a sneak peek at some of the scripts that Nike athletes and Puma Golf athletes will wear. In the rest of this post, we’ll be featuring other Masters-inspired products!

FootJoy 2014 Masters Limited Edition

FootJoy introduced a Limited Edition Greens colourway through their custom MyJoys program with printed leather – it was a limited release collection and probably snatched up quick! Models that got the Augusta treatment included the FJ Icon, XPS-1 and DryJoys.

Cobra Puma Bio Cell Masters 2014 limited edition driver

COBRA golf also released a limited edition (only 2,014 available!) Bio Cell driver featuring the Bio Cell technology and an adjustable hosel that provides eight settings. In addition to the green paint, this limited edition driver also comes with the Lamkin Ace 3GEN 360 grip and Aldila ATX Tour Green shaft to complete the Augusta Green look!

Similar to FootJoy, ECCO is a footwear brand and they are offering a limited 275 pairs of Masters-inspired Fred Couples Signature Model BIOM Hybrid golf shoe. The shoe will feature a white and green colour combination and celebrates Couples winning score of 13-under par 275 at the 1992 Masters Tournament. Each shoe will be laser-engraved with Couples’ autograph.

A more casual look, this pair of golf shoe still delivers in performance. It features a low profile for stability and better ground feel, direct injection that provides cushioning, weather resistance to battle against the elements and climate control through the ECCO Comfort Fibre System to keep a cool, dry interior.

In addition to limited edition footwear, Fred Couples will also be wearing the Ashworth Majors Series Apparel Collection. This is a set of six-limited edition golf shirts designed to commemorate the major victories of Fred Couples, Justin ROse, Stewart Cink, Justin Leonard, Paul Azinger and Retief Goosen. Couples shirt is the first release of the collection.

Again, 275 units will be offered – his signature is embroidered inside the back nick line, the historic date of his Masters win on the second placket button and also green contrast piping throughout the shirt. It would match perfectly with the shoe above!

The True Linkswear brand is also offering a limited edition collection including Masters-inspired wingtip golf shoe as well as a hat and t-shirt. The classic wingtip look is really popular this year on Tour, with the FJ City collection and Nike Lunar Clayton sporting the look as well. The t-shirt would be great for a casual day out or even at the driving range!

We’ve featured Jones Golf Bags – they incorporate old-school designs into the modern golf bag. With this in mind, they take some inspiration from The Masters and Augusta to create the 2014 Jones Master’s Edition golf bag. It is a white golf bag that features subtle hints of green and yellow while still featuring the classic Jones Golf Bag features such as the single strap.

G FORE Masters gloves

G/FORE Golf is also another company we’ve featured before – they offer the chance for golfers to add some colour to their wardrobe through colourful cabretta leather gloves, shoes and accessories. In preparation for The Masters, they’re offering a series of golf gloves that draw inspiration from The Masters and Augusta National as well as a Gallivanter golf shoe.

Lastly, we have Callaway Golf offering a limited edition Tour Staff Bag and Stand Bag that commemorates the 50th anniversary of Arnold Palmer’s 1964 victory at Augusta National. It would be his fourth and final green jacket, as well as the last Major Championship win for The King. Take a closer look at the photos above and see all the details that were incorporated into the bag that was not only inspired by The Masters, but also The King, Arnold Palmer.
