Adam Scott has added a fourth jacket to his closet! He’s already won a Gold Jacket, a Green Jacket and a Pink Jacket, but today, he successfully defended his Australian Masters title at Royal Melbourne and won his second Gold Jacket! Adam Scott has won in two consecutive weeks, with last week’s win coming at the Australian PGA Championship – with his win at the Australian Masters though, twitter has coined the term #ScottySlam! He will now try to win the “Australian Triple Crown” at the Australian Open at Royal Sydney in two weeks, but before that, he will partner with Jason Day for Australia at the ISPS HANDA World Cup of Golf next week, again at Royal Melbourne.
This now brings Adam Scott’s 2013 win total to five – the Masters, the Barclays Championship, the PGA Grand Slam of Golf, the Australian PGA Championship and the Australian Masters. Although he won the Australian Masters, his final round on Sunday was much of a scramble – he shot an even par 71 and won with a two-stroke victory over Matt Kuchar in a wind-swept day. The last couple of holes were pretty exciting, with Scott actually losing his lead to Matt Kuchar at one point. Scott wrestled back the lead but had some help with Matt Kuchar double bogeying the 72nd hole. Hopefully, Adam Scott can continue this play and finally win The Open Championship where he’s been so close the past 2 years!
